Sri Lankan Premier League has got bigger after the news regarding the inclusion of top international cricket being included in the Franchises. However, some of the top Indian senior players like Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Dravid, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina are have not signed the league due to their tight national duty schedules.

The Sri Lanka Premier League follows the same rules as that of the first three editions of the Indian Premier League. The Sri Lanka Premier League will have seven club T 20 teams playing one match against each other and the total tally of Sri Lanka Premier League matches 2011 will 24. The 24 matches includes two semifinals and a finals match which will be one of the major stadiums of Sri Lanka.
